PBS Engages Viewers With Vietnam War Stories UGC Campaign

PBS partnered with Nosto to support a user-generated content campaign for the documentary series *The Vietnam War*. PBS needed a simple way to invite viewers—many of whom were older and sharing personal memories—to submit stories, photos, videos, audio, and songs about the Vietnam era and weave those contributions into the digital experience.

Nosto’s Stackla-powered UGC platform enabled direct uploads to PBS’s website, content rights management, and easy curation and publishing across the series’ digital platforms. The campaign received over 2,500 qualified viewer stories, generated strong audience engagement, and even led to select stories being featured in USA Today’s special print edition marking the 50th anniversary of the war’s start.
