McDonald’s add a social touch to its popular Monopoly campaign

McDonald’s wanted to add a social dimension to its popular Monopoly promotion and turn customer-generated photos and posts into a stronger part of the campaign. Working with Nosto’s Stackla solution, McDonald’s used the hashtag #MonopolyatMaccas to collect “Instant Wins” and “Monopoly Mo Selfies” from Vine, Twitter, and Instagram.

Nosto helped McDonald’s aggregate this social content into dedicated campaign pages and create UGC-powered display ads for its media spend. The result was a more engaging Monopoly campaign with wider reach, increased participation, and regularly refreshed MREC ad units that drove traffic back to the Monopoly at Macca’s campaign page.
