Hubo, a Belgian home improvement and DIY retail chain with more than 150 stores, needed a smarter site search solution to replace Adobe Search & Promote. Its existing search struggled with relevance, spell check, Dutch and French language nuances, long-tail queries, and required heavy manual hardcoding, creating significant search debt. Nosto implemented an AI- and NLP-driven search solution with custom relevance algorithms, automated optimization, and improved category pages, delivered in seven weeks with minimal development effort from Hubo. The results were strong: conversion rates from site search rose 7% immediately, conversions increased another 4% over the following year, site search usage grew nearly 10%, and CTR improved 28%.
