The company wanted to measure whether its high-impact display creative on Expedia’s German pages was driving intent to travel while the campaign was still running.
Using Nielsen Digital Brand Effect, Expedia Media Solutions tracked brand lift in real time by creative, site, and frequency. Nielsen Holdings helped the team identify creative units that delivered 2.5x higher brand lift than the campaign average and saw that 10+ exposures drove over 2x higher brand lift; overall, the campaign generated a 38% brand lift in intent to travel, along with a 34% increase in passengers and a 27% increase in room nights booked by German tourists during the campaign period versus the previous year.
