A NICE Systems Case Study
Miami International Airport (MIA), one of the busiest U.S. hubs and the largest gateway to Latin America, sought to strengthen airport-wide security and address runway/taxiway incursion risks that threatened passenger safety and its substantial cargo operations. The airport needed an integrated, IP-capable video surveillance and analytics solution to enable early detection, incident verification, and synchronized response across interior, exterior and airfield environments.
NICE delivered a phased deployment of NiceVision IP Video Surveillance with Video Analytics and NICE Situator, managing 2,600 channels and integrating existing analog cameras via hybrid Smart Video Recorders while adding long-range cameras, radar, vehicle tracking and GPS. The integrated system automated monitoring, reduced false alarms, supplied real-time situational awareness and incident reporting, and enabled MIA to offer surveillance services to airlines—improving safety, streamlining response and supporting a break-even cost model.
