Merseyside Police is leading the digital policing revolution with NICE Investigate

Merseyside Police, the fifth largest force in the UK serving about 1.5 million people, was overwhelmed by rapidly growing volumes of digital evidence. Investigators had to log into many separate systems, manually search for connections and wait weeks or months for recordings and imagery, meaning up to 90% of needed digital evidence couldn’t be accessed in a timely way and case work was delayed and costly.

The force deployed NICE Investigate, a cloud-based, end-to-end digital evidence platform that provides a single sign-on, Google‑style search, automated ingestion, correlation and secure sharing. Rolled out to nearly 6,000 users, the system has ingested over 500,000 cases and 4.6 million evidence items (matching 1.6 million to active cases), uncovered previously missed evidence, enabled instant access to 999 calls and body‑worn video, and materially improved investigator efficiency, case solvability and evidence-sharing workflows.
