A NICE Systems Case Study
The Isle of Man Government’s Department of Home Affairs, which manages police, fire and ambulance services for the island’s 76,000 residents, faced aging analog radio infrastructure and fragmented, agency-specific recording systems that made joint incident communications and reconstruction slow and inefficient. The department needed to modernize radio interoperability and consolidate control and recording to speed investigations and improve accountability.
They deployed a TETRA trunked radio network, centralized emergency communications into a single joint control center, and implemented an integrated Motorola/NICE recording solution that captures radio and control-room audio and data. The result: faster, cheaper evidence retrieval (from about one day to one hour), monthly handling of about 60 recording requests, and clear, auditable records used to resolve disputes and provide critical evidence to authorities.
