Case Study: Wix achieves rapid DevOps transformation and improved app performance with New Relic

A New Relic Case Study

Wix developers get insights into the user experience with browser monitoring

Wix, the cloud-based web development platform with more than 80 million users, faced a scaling challenge as rapid growth and a move to hundreds of microservices made it harder to deliver high-quality, industry-specific apps quickly. To adopt a DevOps culture, engineers were asked to own code in production, but they lacked the production performance visibility needed to operate and improve services effectively.

Wix deployed New Relic across the stack (APM, Browser, Insights, Mobile) to give developers real-time, self-service dashboards showing performance, errors, user interactions, and deployments. The visibility enabled faster issue resolution (for example, reducing a critical service’s latency from 50 ms to 20 ms), increased deployment frequency to 80–100 releases a day, and ensured the platform handled major traffic spikes like the Super Bowl—driving a broader, data-driven DevOps culture.
