A New Relic Case Study
Viewpoint, a Trimble company and construction-software leader, needed better observability as it migrated highly customized, single-tenant ERP (Vista) and construction management (Spectrum) applications and more than 4,500 hosts to Kubernetes in the cloud. Its legacy infrastructure monitoring was costly, created data silos, and generated overwhelming alert noise (over 3,500 alerts per week, mostly false positives), threatening customer experience and making it difficult to pinpoint performance issues.
Viewpoint adopted New Relic One for end-to-end observability across applications and infrastructure, enabling teams to correlate telemetry, build shared customer-facing dashboards, and proactively detect and resolve issues. The move cut monitoring costs by 57%, reduced alerts to under 600 per week, accelerated detection and remediation, delivered up to 10x performance gains in core services (identity response improved from >100 ms to ~65 ms), and improved uptime and transparency for customers.
