Tandem Bank is a London-based, mobile-only challenger bank that needed to stay agile and deliver a flawless digital experience while scaling rapidly in a competitive market. To innovate faster and meet customer expectations, Tandem set out to modernize its technology stack by consolidating operations onto AWS and adopting cloud-native microservices and infrastructure as code.

Tandem implemented AWS CloudFormation and a cloud-first architecture and used New Relic (Infrastructure, Mobile, APM, Browser) for end-to-end observability, with dashboards shared across engineering and business teams and integrations into Slack and PagerDuty. The result: demonstrated 47% performance gains from the migration, faster troubleshooting and reduced MTTD/MTTR, and actionable business insights into customer journeys that guide product and operational decisions.
