Nulogy Cuts Average Response Time in Half with Help from New Relic

Nulogy, a Toronto-based enterprise SaaS company that manages supply-chain operations for hundreds of brands, struggled to maintain real-time access to read- and write-heavy workflows across a distributed Rails environment hosted on Engine Yard (private and public cloud). Homegrown monitoring proved inadequate, leaving the team without the comprehensive visibility needed to proactively detect and resolve performance issues.

By adopting New Relic through Engine Yard’s bundled offering, Nulogy quickly deployed agents and gained a single-pane view with custom dashboards, Browser metrics, Apdex thresholds, Key Transactions tracking, and PagerDuty alerts. The result: average response time was cut in half even as request volume more than tripled, some transactions became up to 10x faster, capacity planning improved, and New Relic’s data enabled SLA compliance and greater customer transparency without building an in-house NOC.
