News UK, publisher of The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun, needed to scale its digital operations and adopt DevOps practices while supporting millions of readers. The company was hampered by seven different analytics and monitoring tools that produced inconsistent performance “truths” and made root-cause analysis slow and resource-intensive.
News UK standardized on the New Relic suite (APM, Insights, Mobile, Browser, Synthetics), quickly deploying dashboards and integrating alerts with Slack and RemedyForce across 50 apps, 15 websites and 15 mobile apps. The result was a single source of truth with real-time visibility, faster detection and resolution of issues, targeted crash fixes, improved developer–operations collaboration, and better data-driven product decisions that enhanced the customer experience.
