MercadoLibre, the leading eCommerce platform in Latin America operating across 13 countries with multiple business units (marketplace, payments, advertising and online stores), undertook a major overhaul to move from a single monolithic system to a decentralized, API-first architecture. That shift created thousands of small, independently owned applications and cloud instances, and the company needed an easy-to-deploy, consistent performance-management tool to give each team visibility and control.
New Relic was rapidly adopted, going from an initial deployment to several hundred applications in under two weeks and reaching about 2,500 instances within a year, with the agent pre-installed on every new instance. The platform gave teams fast, precise performance insights and root-cause analysis across APIs and apps, enabling technical agility, supporting hundreds of new instances per month, and becoming an essential management tool for MercadoLibre’s continued growth.
