Case Study: MLBAM (Major League Baseball Advanced Media) achieves seamless, world-class fan experiences and end-to-end visibility with New Relic

A New Relic Case Study

Preview of the MLBAM Case Study

MLBAM–Partnering with New Relic to Ensure Great Fan Experiences (Technical Deep-Dive)

MLBAM, Major League Baseball’s digital technology arm, runs streaming, sites, apps and analytics that deliver live games and content to millions of fans on a wide variety of devices. Faced with the high stakes of live video (where freezes or buffering ruin the experience), rapid growth, heavy third‑party dependencies and an AWS‑driven cloud architecture, MLBAM needed end‑to‑end visibility to quickly detect, troubleshoot and prevent performance issues and to plan capacity for peak events.

MLBAM partnered with New Relic to instrument its full stack—APM, Browser, Mobile, Servers, Synthetics and Insights—providing unified dashboards, alerts and service maps that empowered autonomous dev teams and integrated with CI/CD. The result: over 80% of cloud apps monitored, faster detection and reduced MTTR, more confident, frequent releases, better capacity planning for big events, and a consistently improved fan experience.
