Lending Club is the world’s largest online marketplace connecting borrowers and investors, using technology to lower costs and improve returns. As an almost exclusively Java/Tomcat shop running about 600 servers, the company faces intense pressure to deliver a seamless customer experience—especially during four daily listing events that generate traffic spikes three to four times above baseline—so the team needed better visibility into application performance.

Lending Club deployed New Relic APM, Browser, and Servers (first in QA, then in production) and quickly identified and resolved performance issues—one root cause was found within 15 minutes of production use. The tools now give development, operations, QA, and architecture teams full-stack visibility to prioritize fixes, drive a performance-oriented culture, scale with confidence, and continually improve the customer experience.
