How Seismic applies observability to a global, multicloud platform

Seismic, a global leader in enablement, has grown rapidly across multiple geo-locations and cloud providers, creating challenges around regulatory compliance, acquiring new tech stacks, and maintaining consistent observability across its multicloud platform. As the company scaled, it needed a unified way to monitor services and reduce the complexity and tool sprawl that came with acquisitions and expansion, using New Relic as its observability platform.

Seismic implemented New Relic alongside Terraform modules and cross-functional SRE meetings to standardize alerts, dashboards, thresholds, and monitoring practices across environments. The result was a “single pane of glass” for observability, lower cognitive load for engineers, faster rollout of new regions, and reduced tooling and infrastructure costs by consolidating vendors.
