Grupo Vocento is a leading Spanish multimedia group (14 newspapers including ABC.es) reaching about 25 million unique users per month. Facing fierce digital competition and a shift to mobile/AMP, the company lacked a unified observability platform, operated in development silos, and had limited real-time insight into errors, performance and user experience—hindering reader engagement, retention and speed to market.
Vocento implemented New Relic to instrument production, track KPIs (error rates, response times, Apdex) and build shared dashboards. Real-time traces and custom AMP error events helped teams detect and fix issues fast (one library’s errors were eliminated in days), reduce de-indexing risk, and move from reactive firefighting to proactive DevOps. The result: full visibility across applications, faster problem resolution, improved user experience and stronger cross‑team collaboration, with plans to expand the approach across the business.
