BlackLine Systems is a SaaS provider of enterprise software that automates the month-end close and account reconciliation process for finance teams worldwide. As the company’s customer base grew, meeting self-imposed performance and uptime requirements became more challenging—BlackLine needed reliable high-speed delivery and the ability to detect and diagnose application issues quickly so customers’ month-end reporting wouldn’t be disrupted.

To meet that need BlackLine chose Rackspace’s Critical Sites hosting and adopted New Relic’s Real User Monitoring and APM for end-to-end visibility. New Relic gave the team a performance baseline, early-warning alerts (Apdex), and fast root-cause clues, enabling fixes like SQL tuning and indexing that reduced page load times, cut incident troubleshooting time by about 10–20%, and improved overall end-user experience while supporting more frequent, agile deployments.
