Case Study: Applicake achieves faster issue resolution and cost-effective scaling with New Relic

A New Relic Case Study

Applicake turns up the heat with New Relic

Applicake is a Krakow-based web and mobile development shop (22 people) that builds Ruby on Rails, Node.js, iOS and Android applications and often manages clients’ AWS server architectures. The team was hampered by fragmented tooling—sifting through logs and multiple consoles made it slow and difficult to find root causes, with incidents sometimes taking hours or days to resolve.

Applicake implemented New Relic for unified application and server monitoring (installed via a Ruby gem and server packages and automated with Chef/EC2 provisioning), giving instant visibility with graphs, transaction traces and the Map feature to spot third‑party or database bottlenecks. The result: troubleshooting time fell from hours or days to minutes, other tools were decommissioned, deployments are monitored in real time, capacity is right‑sized to cut costs, and clients and developers benefit from faster, simpler operations.
