A Netsmart Case Study
The Villages of Indiana, founded in 1978 and the state’s largest not‑for‑profit child and family services agency, serves more than 3,000 children and families daily. During reaccreditation the agency learned it was underutilizing its electronic health record (EHR), relying on paper workflows that duplicated effort, slowed foster licensure and placements, delayed state reporting, and left staff doing documentation after hours with limited internal IT support.
Partnering with Netsmart and using myEvolv® CareRecord™ plus IT Managed Services, The Villages rebuilt foster‑care workflows in the EHR, created a mobile field documentation capability, and formed a technology steering committee and super‑user support. The changes cut monthly state report time by 40% (from 10 to 6 days), sped foster placements, reduced administrative burden, improved staff satisfaction and productivity, and enabled more time for direct care.
