Mental Health Center of Denver, a Denver-based behavioral health provider serving more than 44,000 people annually, needed to streamline time-consuming billing and accounting functions that were taking days to complete. The organization sought a solution to reduce manual work, improve workflow visibility and free staff to focus on accounts receivable management.
By implementing Netsmart’s myAvatar—notably Quick Billing, role-based consoles and automated posting—the center cut Medicaid billing from a full day to about one hour and reduced multi-payer runs that once took three days to roughly an hour. Most payers now post automatically (a $500,000 check can be posted in about two minutes), staff duties have been cross-trained and rotated, productivity metrics are visible in-system, and routine monthly posting tasks were eliminated—while denials remained low thanks to an effective pre-edit process.
