A Netsmart Case Study
Maple Knoll Communities, a Cincinnati-based provider of senior living and post-acute services with more than 172 years of care, needed to maintain high-quality resident care when COVID-19 limited in-person visits. Rapidly deployed tools like Skype, WebEx and Doximity created inefficient, manual workflows and poor integration with the organization’s EHR, making timely access to clinicians and visibility into resident records difficult to manage.
Maple Knoll implemented Netsmart Telehealth, a HIPAA‑compliant, device-agnostic platform integrated with the EHR via CareConnect and Carequality, to centralize virtual care. The unified solution improved clinician and resident satisfaction, expanded access to primary and specialty providers (including family participation), streamlined scheduling and billing, increased visibility into resident records, and reduced hospitalizations and transportation barriers.
