A Netsmart Case Study
Hospice of Michigan, the state’s largest hospice provider serving about 4,700 clients across 46 counties, struggled with inefficient, laptop- and paper-based documentation that prevented bedside charting, delayed updates, incomplete data and slow workflows — making real-time clinical decision‑making difficult across a large, mobile workforce.
By rolling out Netsmart Homecare Mobile on nearly 400 iPads, clinicians gained a mobile EHR with offline documentation and auto-syncing, enabling bedside charting and instant access to charts, care plans and assessments. The change cut admission encounter time from four hours to 90 minutes (documentation efficiency improved by more than 60%), shortened training, increased staff satisfaction, and enabled 100% of charting to be completed at the time of visit.
