Henderson Behavioral Health transitions from self-hosting to Plexus Cloud

Henderson Behavioral Health, the oldest and largest nonprofit recovery services provider in South Florida serving over 30,000 people since 1953, had been self-hosting the Netsmart myAvatar EHR for a decade. Self-hosting created ongoing IT burdens — server maintenance, patches and performance tuning — that consumed roughly 75% of one employee’s time, strained bandwidth, and limited the organization’s ability to secure a mobile workforce or adopt additional care-enhancing modules.

In early 2021 Henderson moved its CareRecord to Netsmart Plexus Cloud, a HIPAA-compliant, SSAE 18–audited hosting environment with 24/7 availability and multi-factor authentication. The switch improved performance and security, recovered the equivalent of 0.75 FTE in staff time, and opened the door to new cloud-optimized tools (OrderEntry, eMAR, ScriptLink and more), letting IT focus on projects that enhance staff satisfaction and patient care.
