Gracepoint (formerly Mental Health Care) is a Tampa-based behavioral health provider operating across 35 locations. Facing changes to forms and processes, multiple audiences and sites, hundreds of concurrent users and a high volume of documentation, the organization needed a unified, user-friendly electronic records solution to streamline workflows and improve charting speed and accuracy.
Gracepoint implemented Netsmart’s myAvatar EHR with strong leadership, an active EHR committee and hands-on IT and clinical support. The system delivered virtually paperless records (paperless since July 2012), automated 75% of outpatient and 60% of inpatient documentation, and enabled clinicians to enter services directly. Results included a 10‑day reduction in RFI turnaround (from 14 to 4 days), $62,000 saved in transcription costs in the first six months, payroll reductions saving about $170,000, and a projected 100% ROI by year five — “The user experience was the difference,” said CIO Lenny Moore.
