Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare (SBH) is a New York behavioral health provider serving more than 4,000 people a year for substance use and mental health care. The organization struggled with fragmented claims across Medicaid, managed care and commercial payers, time-consuming manual EOB posting, poor follow-up and high rates of rejected claims that hurt collections.

Partnering with Netsmart—using myAvatar CareRecord plus Plexus Revenue Cycle Management and RevConnect—SBH automated EOB posting and follow-up, introduced claim scrubbing and 837/277 workflows to catch and fix errors before they reached payers. The changes drove measurable improvements: accounts receivable fell 11%, AR days dropped by 13.4 days and AR over 90 days decreased 19.1%.
