EHR Capabilities Make Providing Services Easier For El Dorado

El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency’s mental health team serves roughly 1,300 clients annually and focuses on inpatient/outpatient psychiatric care, suicide prevention, substance use rehabilitation and intensive case management for vulnerable populations. The department needed better data, standardization and tools to deliver whole-person care, track client progress, and coordinate services across partners.

El Dorado implemented Netsmart’s CareRecord (Avatar™ CareRecord™ and Avatar Cal‑PM) and Clinical Workstation — live since 2007 — to integrate clinical and financial workflows and enable mobile field documentation. The solution improved billing accuracy and audit readiness, streamlined treatment planning and standardized assessments (CALOCUS, CANS, ANSA), made service delivery easier for clinicians, and strengthened outcomes tracking while laying the groundwork to connect contract providers into a larger system of care.
