A Netsmart Case Study
Credo Community Center, a behavioral health provider in rural Jefferson County, New York, stepped up after the region suffered heavy opioid losses and residents had to travel hours for care. Executive Director James Scordo led efforts to address the lack of local addiction services and build community support for a treatment clinic.
Credo opened an opioid treatment program offering medication-assisted treatment alongside counseling, supported by extensive community education and stakeholder collaboration. In under two years the clinic has served more than 300 people, maintains over 100 active clients monthly, and reports many clients regaining employment, housing and family stability.
