A Netsmart Case Study
Cleveland’s Catholic Charities Services, a behavioral health provider, needed to improve client engagement and retention in its adult intensive outpatient program while addressing employee satisfaction, data collection and reporting challenges.
Using Netsmart CarePathways Benchmarking (with its Avatar EHR, a QI-developed data template, NIATx-inspired Rapid Change practices and peer learning), the agency implemented targeted tactics—scheduled intake appointments, better orientation, attendance reminders, more individual counseling, productivity tracking and weekly billing. Within a year outpatient productivity reached the 100th percentile, short-term residential retention rose from the 10th to the 52nd percentile, engagement in the intensive outpatient program moved from the 60th to the 83rd percentile, and the organization saw higher client retention, improved cash flow and greater staff satisfaction.
