Improving process efficiencies – robotic process automation to deal with complex tasks which are highly repetitive

Azmm Hospital Maria Middelares faced the challenge of automating complex, highly repetitive processes to improve accuracy and capacity across both finance and clinical systems. Working with Netcall and its Liberty RPA solution, the hospital initially automated invoice and payment reconciliation without changing its ERP, then expanded automation to a clinical use case: ensuring allergy and medication data from the Electronic Patient Record and the Medication Management System were accurate and available to dispensing pharmacists.

Netcall implemented a Liberty RPA “robot doctor” to scan and synchronise patient records, delivering measurable impact: 10,000 records were processed in the first 20 days (about 500/day in two 45-minute runs), the robot detected 9 anomalies that prevented potential adverse medication, and staff were freed to focus on higher‑value patient care. The Netcall automation saved time and money by avoiding ERP changes, increased data accuracy and capacity, and the hospital’s automation CoE continues to expand Liberty RPA into new clinical checks.
