Petflow Uses Web Push Notifications to Boost Declining Email Engagement, Drive in-store Traffic

PetFlow, a leading specialty pet food and supplies retailer, faced a steady decline in email engagement and rising customer acquisition costs. To diversify channels and re-engage customers and prospects, PetFlow partnered with MoEngage to roll out web push (browser push) notifications across desktop and mobile.

MoEngage implemented behavioral, automated web-push campaigns—including browse-abandonment and cart-abandonment flows—using its Sherpa machine-learning timing engine; setup took about three hours and subscribers appeared immediately. Personalization (e.g., inserting the nearest store address) and recurring store pushes delivered strong results: a weekly store campaign achieved a 10% CTR and an Earth Day promotion drove a 5.5% CTR, helping PetFlow boost engagement and begin driving measurable in-store traffic.
