Gaana, a leading online music streaming service with over 50 million active users, faced the challenge of converting new sign-ups to Gaana+ premium, delivering personalized music experiences at scale, and increasing daily active users. To address this, Gaana partnered with MoEngage and adopted its lifecycle push campaigns, segmentation tools, and rich notification capabilities.
MoEngage implemented automated lifecycle and trial-reminder push campaigns, user-attribute and preference-based segmentation (language, region, play history), and personalized carousel push notifications to re-engage listeners. As a result, MoEngage helped Gaana achieve a 120% uplift in Gaana+ premium subscriptions, drove about 10% of the app’s DAU via push notifications, and saw that two-thirds of users who engage with push messages go on to play a song.
