Chillr, a multibank payments app in India, faced the challenge of teaching users with little or no digital-banking history to perform transactions on mobile and making the app a go‑to platform for everyday payments. To solve this, Chillr partnered with MoEngage, leveraging its business‑intelligence capabilities, Smart Triggers and cross‑channel messaging to identify and target transactional “micro‑moments” (e.g., rent, internet bill, phone bill) and nudge users toward digital payments.
MoEngage analyzed transaction data and keyword signals to build personalized profiles and automated timely reminders across push, in‑app, SMS and email. The program drove measurable results: a 23% increase in monthly transactions, first‑month retention above 60%, repeat visitors north of 90%, and MoEngage automation improved overall transactions by about 15%; channel conversions included in‑app >46%, SMS ~27% and push ~14%.
