Revolution Messaging, a digital agency for progressive campaigns, was hired to build and run the complete digital presence for a 2016 presidential campaign on very short notice. The team needed to connect an ecosystem of websites, subdomains, mobile apps, online stores, fundraising systems and communication channels, and to track real-time user behavior and video engagement across devices to turn visitors into advocates, donors, and merchandise customers.

They implemented Mixpanel for cross-platform analytics, using Segmentation, Funnels and custom reports to attribute traffic, optimize messaging through A/B tests, and analyze 550+ videos’ engagement. That data-driven approach helped shift messaging toward community and issues, improve targeting, increase online donations and sales, and inform media strategy — resulting in $218M tracked in online donations, $61M raised via digital ads, and campaign reach that contributed to over 12 million primary votes.
