How StuDocu Grew With Experiments on Mixpanel

StuDocu, an Amsterdam-based student-platform founded in 2013 that hosts 6M+ documents and 15M+ users, needed a way for cross-functional teams to make faster, data-driven product and marketing decisions. The company’s challenge was to consistently measure user behavior, run rigorous A/B tests, and optimize conversion funnels and growth metrics across web and mobile.

By adopting Mixpanel enterprise and embedding it into a stack with Segment, Redshift and Metabase, StuDocu runs experiments and funnel analyses company-wide. That approach produced concrete wins: six experiments drove an 87% lift in their most valuable subscription, another experiment set doubled sales from their main channel, and targeted tests (e.g., relabeling the Follow button, surfacing the mobile share button, and tuning recommendation algorithms) significantly improved engagement and conversions.
