Grabr is a global peer‑to‑peer shopping and travel marketplace that connects shoppers who want hard‑to‑find or cheaper international goods with travelers who can bring those items home. The company needed to eliminate guesswork by tracking user behavior at scale—measuring liquidity (traveler-to‑shopper ratio), user growth, and GMV—to guide product, marketing, and expansion decisions across diverse regional markets.

Grabr adopted Mixpanel for real‑time access to the full dataset and used Segmentation, Funnels, Retention and Insights (plus a Zendesk integration) to analyze billions of events, personalize localization and onboarding, and optimize the referral funnel through A/B testing. Those changes doubled referral signups, improved conversions and support efficiency, and helped prioritize markets and features—delivering a 117X increase in GMV, a 22X rise in referrals, and more than 1 million people on the platform.
