A Mitel Case Study
Taft School, a private boarding and day school in Watertown, Connecticut serving about 595 students, faced limitations from aging analog phone systems: costly upgrade cycles, limited emergency location information, and recurring IT effort to rewire and reassign phones across campus. These constraints reduced flexibility, increased expenses, and strained IT resources.
Taft moved to Mitel’s MiCloud Enterprise with MiCollab mobile, webfax and Enhanced 911, reusing existing assets and migrating nearly 400 lines to the cloud. The deployment delivered a reliable, scalable unified communications platform, cut lines from roughly 950 to 500 (saving about $1,000/month), eliminated periodic “forklift” upgrades, simplified office moves, improved emergency response, and freed IT staff for higher-value work.
