Sauder Woodworking - Customer Case Study

Sauder Woodworking Co., a privately held, third-generation family business and one of North America’s largest ready-to-assemble furniture manufacturers (90% of product made in Archbold, Ohio; ~2,000 employees), faced a critical communications challenge: an aging, unsupported PBX that left the company vulnerable to failures and unable to meet the needs of multiple operating units.

Sauder selected Unify OpenScape Voice interoperable with its Enterasys network and rolled out VoIP enterprise-wide, along with unified messaging, IVR, web collaboration and recommended third‑party tools (call accounting, e911, room-to-room video). The deployment migrated roughly 2,000 subscribers to feature-rich, centrally managed, carrier‑grade telephony and collaboration (desktop sharing, chat, file sharing, presence, mobile support), delivering scalable, reliable communications and improved employee interaction.
