A Mitel Case Study
Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, a 25-bed community hospital in California serving local residents and military personnel along with several clinics and a nursing home, faced an aging Nortel communications system that was costly and difficult to support. The hospital also struggled to manage multiple stand‑alone phone systems across growing clinic locations and needed a single, vendor‑wide platform plus a gradual rollout that its small IT team and clinical staff could adopt comfortably.
Working with Mitel partner CPI Telecom, Ridgecrest migrated in phases to Mitel MiVoice Business beginning in 2018, and has now migrated roughly 80% of staff across the main hospital, three clinics, and the nursing facility. The new solution reduced maintenance time and costs, provided reliable enterprise‑wide functionality (including universal 4‑digit dialing for ~900 employees), and delivered ongoing support from CPI and Mitel.
