Northwest Independent School District (NISD) serves 17,610 students across 232 square miles and more than two dozen campuses. With three different telephone providers and PSAPs, geographically dispersed sites, and a mandate for high availability and modern communications for staff and students, NISD needed a resilient, centrally managed phone and messaging system with no single point of failure.
NISD virtualized voice on its VMware data platform using Mitel virtual solutions (vMAS, vMCA, vNuPoint UM, vMCD), deployed with local partner Advent Telecom, consolidating voice and data on the same infrastructure. The result was centralized management, stronger uptime and business continuity, reduced hardware and staffing costs, improved remote collaboration and learning, and a scalable foundation to support continued district growth.
