Nambour Christian College is an independent Queensland school serving over 1,200 students across a 22-hectare main campus and a remote sister school in Normanton. The college needed to replace an ageing analogue PABX and a problematic VoIP setup while solving the challenge of connecting a distributed workforce and a very remote site with limited bandwidth and frequent outages.

The college deployed Mitel unified communications across both campuses, integrating with its Microsoft environment and extending secure access via VPN for remote staff. The solution supports 100+ teachers and admin staff with handsets, softphones, DECT mobility, paging and emergency notifications, and delivers quality voice over a 4MB link with offline failover and UPS protection. As a result NCC achieved more reliable telephony, better staff engagement, simpler administration, lower support costs and faster, scalable deployments to support growth.
