A Mitel Case Study
Maumee City Schools, a K–12 district of about 2,300 students across seven buildings, was hampered by antiquated, incompatible phone systems that required secretaries to manually route hundreds of daily calls, had no voicemail, and needed external vendors for reprogramming. The district sought an easy-to-manage, upgradable solution to reduce administrative burden and improve internal and parent communication.
Working with Business Communication Specialists, Maumee deployed Mitel MiVoice Connect (a 364‑extension system) across the district in four days. The new system added an auto attendant, voicemail‑to‑email, softphones, quick IT-managed updates, PA integration and emergency notifications—freeing secretaries for core tasks, automatically handling roughly 550 calls per day, improving staff mobility and simplifying system administration.
