Lenkerhof Gourmet Spa Resort - Customer Case Study

The Lenkerhof Hotel & Gourmet Spa Resort, a five‑star property in Simmental, Switzerland, faced a critical communications issue: a 20‑year‑old analog phone system with obsolete parts, calls forwarded without caller information, an unreliable telephone line at the Bühlberg Mountain Restaurant, and a DOS‑based alarm server that no longer met security needs. The resort needed a cost‑efficient, reliable and secure solution to connect the main hotel, grounds and multiple restaurants around the clock while improving guest personalization and staff productivity.

Working with its integration partner, Lenkerhof deployed a central hybrid telephony solution based on Unify OpenScape Business and the OpenScape Alarm Response server, integrated with hospitality applications and Outlook. The rollout added IP and DECT phones (and even a rotary‑phone adapter), a radio relay to cover exterior sites, one‑number mobile forwarding, automated room phone controls and alarm alerts to DECT devices with event location. The upgrade was implemented without service interruption, required minimal training, eliminated missed calls and reservations, strengthened emergency response, and freed staff to deliver more personalized guest service and higher satisfaction.
