James Fisher, a FTSE 250 provider of marine, oil, gas and nuclear services, had grown through acquisitions and ended up with a patchwork of telephony systems across global sites, creating high costs, administration complexity and inconsistent call and support charges. The company needed to centralise voice services, adopt SIP/ISDN for lower call and line costs, and improve collaboration and business continuity.

James Fisher implemented Mitel Connect for about 2,500 users, adding collaboration, mobility and centralised directory services, with SIP/ISDN trunks from Gamma and BT and managed support from TruStack. The phased rollout standardised administration, reduced line rentals and call costs, improved resilience and remote working, cut management overheads and carbon footprint, and delivered projected ROI of roughly 40–60% across the group.
