Industrias Peñoles, founded in 1887, is one of Mexico’s largest industrial groups and a Latin American leader in the production of gold, lead and refined zinc. To enhance communication efficiency and ensure high-quality service, the company chose to migrate its legacy TDM telephony infrastructure to an IP-based, open-source solution.

Telexpertise implemented the rollout, supplying 1,400 Aastra SIP phones across 23 sites as part of a broader migration that will move 2,100 TDM extensions to Asterisk over the next two to three years. The new IP telephony system delivered interoperability, significant cost savings, optimized line usage, greater flexibility and improved operational efficiency.
