Case Study: Radisson Blu Hamburg achieves flexible, future-proof communications with Mitel MiVoice Business

A Mitel Case Study

Preview of the Radisson Blu Hamburg Case Study

Flexible and Future-Proof Communication

Radisson Blu Hamburg, a 556‑room, four‑star superior hotel in the Rezidor/ Radisson Blu portfolio, faced an aging Nortel analog telephone system dating from the 1990s. With spare parts and vendor support no longer available, the hotel needed a future‑proof communications platform while retaining roughly 600 existing analog room phones and minimizing disruption to operations.

The hotel deployed the Mitel MiVoice Business platform with two redundant controllers and the Connected Guests suite, enabling IP functionality while supporting existing analog handsets. The migration (cutover July 2016) was smooth, delivered resilient, centrally manageable communications integrated with ORACLE Opera (ACD, automated wake‑ups, check‑in/out phone control), and made configuration far faster — enabling rapid temporary setups (e.g., G20 press center) and providing cost‑effective, supported, future‑proof operations.
