Wauconda Community Unit School District (CUSD) 118, a six-school K–12 district in Wauconda, IL serving about 600 users, faced a fragmented mix of legacy phone systems that made information sharing difficult. Some schools lacked voicemail and new teachers waited days for phone and email setup, putting strain on limited IT resources and creating a need for a scalable, E‑Rate–eligible communications platform.

The district deployed Mitel’s MiCloud service with MiVoice 5360 and 5304 IP phones to standardize communications across all schools. The rollout was completed in under six months, provided a consistent, easy-to-use experience, enabled day-one phone/voicemail/email for new hires, improved staff and parent collaboration, and qualified for an 80% E‑Rate reimbursement.
