A Mitel Case Study
Brush School District, just outside Denver and serving over 1,500 students, was struggling with an aging, end-of-life telephony system: unreliable wiring across its high and middle schools, increasing repair costs (about $4,000/year), and expensive premise-based replacement estimates (well over $100,000). The outdated phones lacked centralized extension dialing, district-wide paging, voicemail-to-email and other features needed for efficient daily operations and emergency response.
The district implemented Mitel’s MiCloud Business for Education for its 203-seat, five-site environment, adopting a cloud-hosted VoIP suite that provided extension dialing, auto attendant, conferencing, E911 support, paging and voicemail-to-email without new physical wiring. The subscription model (eligible for E-Rate discounts that cut monthly costs by nearly two-thirds) brought the solution within budget, delivered a unified, easy-to-manage system across all sites, and resolved reliability and feature gaps while simplifying administration.
