A Mitel Case Study
Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), a regional health network serving northwest Ohio, was managing a costly, neglected multivendor phone system that was hard to maintain in-house. The problem became urgent during COVID‑19 as call volumes surged and BVHS needed a single, easily managed, scalable communications platform that could be reconfigured quickly.
BVHS implemented Mitel MiVoice Business with Mitel 5300/6900 IP phones and a centralized virtual architecture, consolidating thousands of endpoints under one vendor. The move eliminated expensive third‑party maintenance, delivered high availability and scalability (supporting ~3,000 endpoints), and enabled rapid reconfiguration of call centers, remote work and temporary triage sites during the pandemic.
