Beaverton School District, the third-largest district in Oregon serving over 40,000 students across more than 50 schools and ancillary sites, faced an urgent need to replace a failing two-decade-old Nortel phone system with unavailable parts. The district required a modern unified communications platform that would support collaboration, streamline workflows and strengthen student safety while keeping total cost of ownership in mind.
Beaverton deployed an on-premises Mitel UC solution with more than 5,000 phones, Mitel Communicator E911, an Emergency Notification System and the Mitel mobile app, with voicemail integrated into email for easier access. The implementation was completed below budget and ahead of schedule, delivering integrated safety capabilities, lower TCO, improved productivity and strong positive feedback from staff and the community.
